Final Visit to the PC...

Well, eleven days ago the 2012 PC class graduated.  Now, most of my classmates are settling into their homes away from MD.  We are in the middle of packing up our MD house, driving about 1200 miles home to MN and unpacking the truck.  While we cannot wait to get home, this has been a wonderful year.  Words cannot explain my gratitude to Jeff Purswell and Sovereign Grace Pastors College for inviting me to attend this year.  Words cannot express our gratitude to Oasis Church for all their support that allowed us to be here the last year.

The pulpit is not the parameter of your ministry, but it can be the springboard of your ministry.

Paul in 1 Corinthians

(1Co 1:18 BGT)

I Now Have Proof...

That I step away from the pulpit when I preach!

However, there is also much proof that I do not

A Day in the life of the PC...

Eschatology week with Micky Connley.  We had to present and defend Postmillennialism and entertain the class all at the same time.  We had a great time!

I am questioning BB Warfield (beard and sunglasses), John Owen (wig), Rolando! and to my left John MacArthur has been raptured and we were left behind.

Quote: Dave Harvey

At the heart of discontentment is “I do not have what I deserve.”
The gospel answers “you are right, you don’t have what you deserve and you can thank God for that!”

"Divine Common Sense"

Craig Cabaniss encouraged us with this "divine common sense" this am:
“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. (Matthew 6:25-34 ESV)

Our Birthday

Gracie and I share a birthday, March 12.   We had a wonderful family day.

Our family tradition is birthday waffles in the morning:

Hope and Zoe got in on the action also

Then we threw a surprise kids party for Gracie

She was surprised...

To end the day, a fancy dinner.

It was a great day.  I love sharing my birthday with "G"!

Appalachian Trail (AT)

I have always wanted to hike on the AT since I was a Cub Scout in second grade.  Last week I had the first opportunity in my life.  I was so excited that I was able to share it with Becky and the girls.
We went to Harper's Ferry, WV where the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers meet.  We started in town and hiked the trail to historic Harper's Ferry and across and then along the Potomac river.  Here is some pics:
