First Greek Devotion

(Joh 1:1-5 BGT)

We are now through nouns and well into verbs in Greek class.  We now know 72% of the words in the New Testament.  Yet, somehow it seems that every time Jeff puts a word on the board in systematic theology we have not had the word yet!  I am starting to wonder if I really know 72% or how many times "the" "and" and "if" appear in the text.

To help with my Greek I started today with trying to do at least part of my devotions in Greek.  I am starting with the Gospel of John as it is one of the easier books to read in Greek.

The major benefit I found today is it causes you to slow down and really think about and meditate on especially familiar texts.  It also gives motivation for studying Greek!
